In April, Volunteer Canada and Community Futures celebrate Canada’s 12 million volunteers during National Volunteer Week.

This year marks the 14th year Volunteer Canada has delivered the campaign in partnership with Investors Group, a longstanding supporter of National Volunteer Week.

According to a study by Statistics Canada in 2015, 55% of 2.3 million Canadians with disabilities aged 25-64 are unemployed.

A recent study by Guelph University found that unemployment rates are twice as high among graduates with disabilities and that those who attain employment earn $4,000 to $6,000 less per year than their peers without disabilities.
