The Nanaimo Wine Shoppe was established in 2007. Kelvin and Bonnie Campbell, owned and operated the store from 2008 to 2019. After nine years, they wanted to retire so they sold their store to Wendy & Guillermo Rosas. Wendy has been working in the wine industry for over 10 years. Guillermo has also enjoyed working with wine and beer production and has been in the industry part time for over 5 years.
Wendy and Guillermo are committed to figuring out what is needed and are continuously working to get those products in the store. They learn by asking questions and gaining knowledge through customer interactions and many online resources. Their efforts were recently recognized in the community when they were awarded 3rd place for “The Best Wine Making Store” in the Nanaimo Bulletin’s 2020 Best in the City survey.
They have added beer grains and specialty malts, hops, yeasts, beer kits and beer supplies for the home brewers of Nanaimo as well as milling grains on demand and phone/email orders for curb side pickup. On the wine side, they have added 100% grape premium wine kits as an extension of our wine kit line up, which has been very popular so far. They recently started a loyalty program which provides a decent reward at an attainable threshold.
They have adjusting to the new Covid normal ensuring customers feel safe and secure. They want to ensure that customers can get their wine even if there was another lockdown.
They are committed to giving free and enthusiastic advice to all the home brewers looking to make their brews from scratch. Guillermo and I love chatting about wine, beer, travel, as well as providing quality service and a great variety of wines to suit anyone’s budget.
